Canadian Speaker of the House Anthony Rota Praises Nazi Waffen-SS Soldier Yaroslav Hunka during President Zelinsky’s visit to the Canadian Parliament on Friday September 22, 2013.
The Canadian Speaker of the House Rota resigned following the incident where a 98-year-old SS solider was cheered and honored in Parliament, with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau refusing to take any responsibility, despite meeting with the Ukrainian Nazi beforehand.
Yaroslav Hunka is a former Nazi SS member of the First Ukrainian Division during World War 2 was praised by Canadian Speaker of the House Anthony Rota as a Ukrainian and Canadian veteran who “fought for Ukrainian independence against the Russian aggressors then, and continues to support the troops today.”
The 14th Waffen SS carried out numerous atrocities against civilians in the Ukraine and fought alongside regular Nazi German armed forces in the battle of Brody.
The SS was declared a criminal organization by the International Military Tribunal in Nuremberg.
Members of this unit swore allegiance to the Fuhrer and the perverted racial ideology of the Nazis.
The First Ukrainian Waffen Division members are accused of killing Polish and Jewish civilians, although the unit has not been found guilty of any war crimes by a tribunal, the BBC reported.
